Derrick Davis is an art director, photographer, and filmmaker based in the South Bronx. After receiving a Bachelor’s from the University of Colorado, and a Master’s from the University of Texas, he accepted a life-changing opportunity in NYC that would launch his creative career in advertising. As an art director, Derrick has worked on 360 campaigns for clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Canon, Kahlua, Oreo, New Orleans Tourism and Bosche+Lomb, to name a few.
In tandem to his career in advertising, Derrick is a consummate photographer and filmmaker for which he is more commonly known. With a truly diverse skill set behind the camera, Derrick produces for clients in theater & dance, music, fashion, beauty, real estate, and automotive industries. Some of his clients include Jaguar/Land Rover, Essence, The Glenlivet, Covet & Mane, Madison Realty Capital, Beauty by Africa Miranda, and The Roots of Flamenco World Tour. He also created a visual music platform, Safi Sounds, in which he produces exclusive live performances, photos, and artists’ stories.
Derrick continues to evolve as a visual artist by learning, experimenting, and collaborating on creative projects.
