💬 Room Discussions & Questions
- “I had a zoom meeting with a client and the coverage they wanted was priced way more than my typical quote – how do I get more comfortable with presenting higher prices?”Â
- Always have options to fit those
- 4 collections:
1. The Whopper Collection (12-20K – this is meant to be shocking!)
2. The package that clients want (the ideal album, coverage, etc.)
3. The package that clients get (maybe a smaller more basic album, etc.)
4. The base collection (bare min. to cover your commission) - Clients can see you’re comfortable living in that space (The Whopper)
- There’s no one size fits all – walk them through the collections/packages – to give them that ballpark -nothing is set in stone
- Say the price without hesitation – with confidence – then pause – to get their reaction
- THIS IS PRICE ANCHORING
- “I just made the switch to full-time photography – I don’t know if it’s just COVID – but I feel like everyone is just looking for the cheapest option”
- The Get-Give Principal
- This is why I’m worth what I’m charging
- Talk more about your differentiation, the experience clients will have with you, more than just a commodity
- Formulate your perceived value, cost-of-goods, experience design
- “I’m in my first year of business, I’m trying to jump as many gaps as I can (the standard linear growth) – what would do today, if you were starting over today, to get your business where it is (mid-higher range), without social media:
- Nathan: Developing content for couples you want to reach
- Bryan: Market research – who do they talk to – before they get to me? What is the path my ideal client take (hotels, planners, etc.) – then I would build a relationship with them
- “I’m starting to book my ‘Whopper Package’ more often – is it time to increase my prices… I’m having a roadblock, but I feel bad because we’re still in the midst of a pandemic” (ie. people are having less people)
- How do I raise price = how to increase profit
- Less people, may = less coverage, may = less time
- Less time, + same prices = higher profit
