Announcing Weekend Wisdom with Skip Cohen
Marketing your photography business can be overwhelming, and yet it is crucial to your success.
Marketing is simply the process of making an audience aware of what you do, so that when they need the type of service that you offer, you are the first to come to mind. Marketing is the only way to build a business that is sustainable and it’s the best way to guarantee longevity.
There are so many ways that you can market yourself, including traditional print advertising, radio ads, networking, social media, Google adwords, relationship marketing, display advertising, referrals, direct mail, cold calling, PR initiatives, and so on.
But where do you start, and how do you know what to focus on? Even once you do decide where to put your time, attention and money, how can you make sure that you’re getting the most out of it, or that you’re doing it “right” at all? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to hear from successful photographers who have “been there” and “done that” and learn from their experiences? Wouldn’t it be great to sit beside them and have them show you exactly what they did in a specific marketing initiative, what to look out for and how you can make the most of it?
