About the Guest
Chris Monlux has been a professional videographer, cinematographer, visual effects artist, editor, and sound designer for over 15 years, starting his career producing local and regional TV commercials. As he developed his skills, his passion for making beautiful and successful ads lead him to the business side of advertising. He became the production director of the local CBS, NBC, CW, and Telemundo affiliate in Chico, California. He then worked his way up to manager and eventually became the creative services manager.
His success in running the station promotion, news promotion, and commercial production team led him to an extensive knowledge of the equipment needed to do the best work possible.
Around this time, Chris began writing for Videomaker as a freelance writer, doing equipment reviews and instructional articles on a wide variety of video production techniques. When the multimedia editor position became available at Videomaker a little over five years ago, Chris applied and got the job. Since then, he has been the lead gear reviewer, traveling worldwide using the newest cameras and showing the large Videomaker following what is good and bad about the gear. All production at the Videomaker is either produced solely by Chris or overseen by him from beginning to end.
